The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) joined the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) in the commemoration of the 256th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Postal Service and provided an opportunity for attendees to register to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

The registration activity, which coincided with a three-day stamp exhibit to celebrate the anniversary, was held at the Music Hall in SM Mall of Asia, Pasay.

We are happy to celebrate with PHLPost through this collaboration, which is part of PSA’s drive to work with different government agencies to extend PhilSys registration to more Filipinos. This is important for us as PHLPost has been and continue to be a close partner in delivering PhilIDs to Filipinos nationwide,” shared PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General.

Participants who attended the event expressed satisfaction with the quick and easy registration process.

Mark Bryan Antonio, 30, an employee of PHLPost, experienced the registration process firsthand during the anniversary celebration.

[Sa pag-register sa PhilSys], ngayon ko lang nalaman na sobrang bilis pala. Magfill-out ka lang ng form, and then [isusunod] ‘yung process ng pag-capture ng biometrics at picture,” Antonio shared.

He also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to conveniently register to PhilSys.

[The] opportunity na andito yung PhilSys na kasama namin sa event, [I am] super happy. Nagulat ako [na] ganun lang pala siya kabilis.

Meanwhile, Albert Paul M. Arizona, 51, a resident of Manila, was also surprised at how convenient it had been for him.

“Right now, very fast ang [pag-register sa PhilSys]. Napakadali [at] walang problema,” he said.

Arizona also encouraged fellow Filipinos to register with PhilSys, highlighting its advantages.

For every government transaction [where] you have to present a valid government ID, ito na ‘yung pinaka-ID na pwede mo i-present, pati rin sa private [establishments], lalo na sa bangko,” he shared. “[Mag-register] na po kayo. Napakadali naman at napakarami nilang [registration] centers.

As of 17 November 2023, a total of 81,988,183 Filipinos have registered to PhilSys.

Filipinos who have yet to register are welcome to walk in at any registration center nationwide and bring supporting documents (https://philsys.gov.ph/supporting-documents/) for validation of demographic information and collection of biometric information.

For those who have already registered, they can check if their ePhilID is already available for claiming at https://appt.philsys.gov.ph or download it on their mobile devices once they receive an official text message from the PSA.
