The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) participated in the Pampamahalaang Programa at Serbisyo at Rizal Park in Ermita, Manila last 10 to 11 June 2023 as part of the celebration of the 125th Independence Day.

Spearheaded by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the event provided an opportunity for individuals to avail of services from various government agencies. Among the services offered by the PSA during the Independence Day weekend are its mobile civil registry and Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) services.

Jun Loreto from San Jose, Batangas is one of the many individuals who registered to PhilSys through the caravan. Despite the weather conditions, he expressed his satisfaction over the registration process.

"Okay naman. Mabilis [ang proseso] kahit maulan. Siguro mga 3 minutes lang, natapos kaagad," he said.

Meanwhile, when asked about their purpose for registering to PhilSys, Jayson Betorio from Manila shared that he hopes to use his PhilID, once received, for employment.

"[Gagamitin ko sa] pag-apply sa trabaho [at] kung saan man ako makarating, hindi ako mangangamba kasi mayroon akong gagamitin na [valid ID],” he said.

Another PhilSys-registered participant, Bert Bayola from Quezon City, encouraged fellow Filipinos, “Dapat [mag-register] na rin sila kasi ‘yan ‘yung centralized ID natin. Kailangan kasi natin ‘yan para sa paglakad-lakad ng mga [dokumento],” he said.

For Filipinos who wish to register to PhilSys, PhilSys Registration Centers nationwide are open for walk-in registrations. Registered persons may also check if their ePhilID is already available for claiming at https://appt.philsys.gov.ph or download a PDF copy of the ePhilID on their mobile devices if they received an official text message from the PSA.

In addition, the PSA field offices are actively issuing ePhilIDs through plaza-type and house-to-house distribution.

As of 16 June 2023, 79,621,186 Filipinos have registered to PhilSys, while 36,848,828 ePhilIDs—printed and downloaded—have already been issued.
