PRO with PSO Rizal

The PSA, through the Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) – Rizal, launches Rehistro Bulilit at Baras-Pinugay Phase 2 National High School in Baras, Rizal. Officer-in-Charge, Assistant National Statistician Sittimazuin M. Hofileña of the PhilSys Registry Office and PSO Rizal Chief Statistical Specialist Yra B. Sibug led the activity.

PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, shared that the initiative targets the registration of more Filipino children while ensuring the continuous reaching out to communities around the country to register every Filipino to the National ID system.

“The registration of children ages 1-4 years old in the National ID is part our commitment in making the National ID inclusive. We will continue to create venues for National ID registration such as Rehistro Bulilit through the support of local government units and other stakeholders. Anuman ang edad ay sama-sama tayo sa Makabagong Pilipinas,” he said.

Mascot greeting a kid registering

A mascot greets a child while registering to the National ID system during the launch of Rehistro Bulilit in Baras-Pinugay Phase 2 National High School in Baras, Rizal.

To help children feel at ease during registration, Rehistro Bulilit featured a mascot, colorful banners and tokens, and playing of children’s videos. A total of 46 children ages 1 to 4 were successfully registered to the National ID system. Each child has their own National ID number or permanent identification number, which was linked to the parent or guardian who accompanied them.

Upon validation of demographic information, their front-facing photograph was captured. Their complete biometric information including the fingerprints, iris scan, and the updated front-facing photographs, will be captured once they reach the age of five.

Meanwhile, a total of 53 individuals 5 years old and above were also able to register during the activity.

Prior to the registration activity, the PSA coordinated with barangay officials and conducted an information drive to encourage residents, especially parents, to register their children to the National ID system.

As of 28 June 2024, 88,429,175 Filipinos successfully registered to the National ID, while 55,311,590 National ID cards have been dispatched and 45,687,852 printed ePhilIDs have been issued.
