05 JULY 2023 — QUEZON CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) remains ISO 9001:2015-certified after its Quality Management System (QMS) effectiveness, which was established in 2017, was validated during its successful Second Surveillance Audit conducted on 13 to 17 March 2023.
The certification was issued by TUV Rheinland on 03 July 2023 and is valid from 30 June 2023 until 28 March 2024. The audit has covered the following areas: Provision of Statistical and PhilSys Planning, Policy, and Standards Development, Statistical Operations, Civil Registration Operations, and PhilSys Operations.
The Second Surveillance Audit was a part of the three-year certification to ensure the compliance of PSA against the set standards to meet the requirements and exceed expectations of its customers and interested parties. Following this certification, the agency maintains its commitment for continuous improvement to ensure the delivery of relevant and reliable statistics, efficient civil registration services, and an inclusive identification system.
The certificate confirms, in line with the audit targets, that the organization's management system complies with, adequately maintains, and implements the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The PhilSys Registry Office and the Regional Statistical Services Office IX audit sites were added this year, increasing the number of sites from 38 to 40. Twenty of these sites were included as samples.
Additionally, in 2022, PSA was recognized by the Civil Service Commission and the Anti-Red Tape Authority for its quality services and timely provision of meaningful statistics, demonstrating its ability to meet requirements and exceed client expectations.
The PSA's ISO 9001:2015 certification reaffirms its position as a trusted authority in providing accurate and reliable statistical data. With a nationwide scope and a continuous focus on improvement, the PSA remains committed to delivering high-quality services that support national development and decision-making.
