The Philippine Statistics Authority announces the opening of nominations for the 29th National Statistics Month (NSM) Awards. The NSM Awards System has been instituted since 2002 as a means of providing recognition to participating agencies/organizations in the observance of the NSM.

The awards are given to acknowledge the outstanding participation of government agencies, regional offices, private sector, youth organizations, and local government units in the NSM celebration and to further encourage them to be more active in their involvement in the observance of future NSM celebrations. For this year, the five categories open for nominations are as follows:

  1. Best Statistical Activity Conducted by a Government Organization
  2. Best Statistical Activity Conducted by a Private Organization
  3. Best Youth Group Advocate for Statistics
  4. Best NSM Region
  5. Best Local Government Unit (LGU) Advocate for Statistics

The NSM is conducted annually pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, s. 1990 “Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month,” in order to promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society.

Nominations for the awards and supporting documents will be accepted on or before 30 August 2019 by the 29th NSM Secretariat thru:
