The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) partnered with GCash, a mobile wallet service, to bring National ID services to its community events aimed at promoting financial inclusion.

Called Know Your Customer (KYC) On-The-Go, the series of community events offer National ID services such as registration, issuance of ePhilID, and assistance in downloading the Digital National ID, as well as assistance in opening a GCash account.

“As the country increasingly becomes digital, mobile wallets has become part of the norm in our transactions. We encourage registered persons to use their National ID to access financial services such as mobile wallets,” said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. “We thank our partners from GCash for allowing us to provide National ID services to participants of their community events in fulfillment of our shared pursuit for financial inclusion.”

The PSA is set to participate in future KYC On-The-Go events in various communities such as schools and barangays in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.

Meanwhile, as part of the National ID system’s effort to promote financial inclusion, the PSA recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with GoTyme Bank, a digital bank, for colocation in mobile registration activities of the National ID. The initiative will allow unbanked Filipinos who have just finished registering to the National ID through mobile registration activities to open bank accounts for free with GoTyme Bank.

The PSA has also successfully integrated the Asia United Bank (AUB) with the authentication services of the National ID. This will enable AUB to easily verify the identity of its clients, ensuring secure banking transactions.

Financial institutions interested in partnering or onboarding with the National ID system may reach the PSA through email via fpsucd@psa.gov.ph.
