The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) reaffirmed their commitment to accelerate delivery of PhilIDs for Filipinos who have registered to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), following its new management with newly appointed Postmaster General (PMG) and Chief Executive Officer Luis D. Carlos at the helm.

In a meeting, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General and PMG and CEO Carlos discussed continued close coordination and combined efforts for PhilID delivery nationwide, especially in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).

“At the provincial, municipal, and barangay level, we look forward to honing closer collaboration between representatives of the PHLPost and PSA on the ground. We, at PSA together with the PHLPost, have committed to working closer to speed up PhilID deliveries and to act on concerns that may arise. It is crucial that we empower our local officers who man the frontlines and who best understand the needs of their communities,” shared Usec. Mapa.

The PSA and PHLPost are also addressing challenges in delivery, such as unclaimed Return-to-Sender (RTS) PhilIDs including those for PhilID holders who have changed locations.

The PHLPost said the delivery of PhilIDs is of the highest priority and that their local Postmasters will be working more actively with the 86 provincial field offices of the PSA.

From the 37,021,698 PhilIDs dispatched by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for delivery, the PHLPost has already delivered 30,160,674 PhilIDs to PhilSys-registered Filipinos nationwide.

Meanwhile, the PSA Field Offices also continue to issue ePhilIDs to registered persons through plaza-type and house-to-house distribution.

Registered persons may also check if their ePhilID is already available for claiming at registration centers and set an appointment through https://appt.philsys.gov.ph. They may also download their ePhilID if they received an official text message containing a secure link from the PSA.

As of 05 May 2023, a total of 32,142,314 ePhilIDs have already been claimed and downloaded by registered persons.
