25 November 2021 – CEBU CITY. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is one of the recipients of the 2021 Freedom of Information (FOI) Award on the category Top requested and performing agencies in the eFOI Portal. The category covers agencies with 1000+ requests and with at least 90 percent closed transactions.

The awarding ceremony is held in Cebu City, first time outside of the National Capital Region, and is live on the FOI official Facebook page. PSA Deputy National Statistician for Civil Registration and Central Support Office (CRCSO), Atty. Leo B. Malagar, alongside Assistant National Statistician Cesar Reynaldo V. Vinuya of the Information Technology and Dissemination Service (ITDS) and Officer-in-Charge Information Officer IV Ruben V. Litan of the Knowledge Management and Communications Division (KMCD) receive the award on behalf of PSA Undersecretary Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D.

“We will continue to serve the public whole-heartedly as we provide timely and quality data on statistics… also to operationalize the People’s Constitutional Right to Information as stipulated in Executive Order No. 2 s. 2016.” said PSA Undersecretary Mapa.

The PSA also received another plaque from FOI last 29 September 2021 during the celebration of International Day for Universal Access to Information, the FOI Service Experience Award, for providing well-commended and satisfactory FOI Services to the Filipino citizens.
