The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reiterates its warning to the public about unauthorized individuals offering cash to registered persons in exchange for their National IDs.

The PSA received reports of individuals directly approaching registered persons and taking photographs of their National ID in exchange for cash.

The PSA reminds the public not to share their National ID unnecessarily and present it only to authorized personnel. Your vigilance is crucial in preventing identity theft and fraud. Stay informed and protect your personal information.

Further, being registered or receiving the National ID does not make an individual eligible to receive any cash benefits from the government, and other social protection programs. Such benefits are granted based on the rules and regulations of the concerned agency.

For any information related to such activities, we encourage the public to report to the official channels of PhilSys: (1) PhilSys hotline 1388; (2) email at info@philsys.gov.ph; and (3) Facebook at facebook.com/PSAPhilSysOfficial.
