PRODUCTION

The seasonally adjusted palay production for April to June 2022 was 4.94 million metric tons. This was 1.4 percent higher than the previous quarter’s output of 4.87 million metric tons. (Table 1)

Year-on-year, this quarter’s deseasonalized production was up by 0.6 percent compared with the production level of 4.91 million metric tons in the same period of the preceding year. (Figure 1 and Table 1)

 

 

PRICE

From April to June 2022, the deseasonalized average farmgate price of palay at PhP 16.49 per kilogram decreased by -3.7 percent, from the first quarter’s average price of PhP 17.13 per kilogram. Similarly, it was lower by -0.1 percent than the previous year’s same quarter average price of PhP 16.51 per kilogram. (Figure 2 and Table 1)
