Solemnizing Officers all over the country to convene this August at SMX

Priests, pastors, imams, and other solemnizing officers from various religious sects and denominations; city/municipal mayors, members of the judiciary; and local civil registrars from all over the country, among others, will converge on August 25 to 27, 2015 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia for the 9th National Convention of Solemnizing Officers (9NCSO).
Organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the 9NCSO will have for its theme “Get Every Solemnizing Officer in the Picture” in line with the global celebration of the decade of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics, 2015 to 2024.

Participants to the biennial convention will be welcomed by Pasay City Mayor Antonino G. Calixto. Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta, has been invited to deliver the keynote address.
The three-day event includes paper presentations on updates on marriage laws and registration procedures; roles and responsibilities of solemnizing officers; and, the sharing of experiences and best practices in the solemnization of marriages. An open forum will be held after every session for questions and clarifications.
National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Lisa Grace S. Bersales will cap the convention with the PSA’s future directions.

Entertainment numbers during the convention will be rendered by the Philippine Tourism Chorale and Indak Turismo.
