Crops with less than one year growing cycle. Examples are rice, corn, rootcrops such as sweet potato, and cassava, and vegetables such as squash, string beans, cabbage, and mushroom. In the Philippines, some temporary crops grow for more than a year such as strawberries, pineapple, sugarcane, "siling labuyo", and eggplant.
