As the PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) is continuously implemented around the country, more and more Filipinos have benefited specially those persons in marginalized communities, Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos, poorest sector of the country, and persons currently living outside their place of birth. This is a significant milestone which the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) prioritize to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) and that they will be enrolled to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

As pilot to this project, the National Statistician and Civil Registrar General (NSCRG) initiated the Birth Registration Project (BRP) in the Province of Aklan in 2021 to register 10,000 unregistered births in the province. The PBRAP on the other hand was launched in February 2022 which aims to register two million Filipinos nationwide.

For the success of this project, strong support from the different local government units through the LCROs is a key factor. PSA successfully registered beneficiaries of the PBRAP which covered citizens of all ages: children and even senior citizens around the country. As to date, Ms. Adang A. Irari, 84 years old from Upper Laus, Talipao, Sulu is the oldest registered beneficiary of the project.

As of 24 November 2022, a total of 915,064 birth records were received by PSA-Civil Registration Service for verification whether they have birth certificates in the Civil Registry System database. Out of this number, a total of 617,344 birth records had been verified, wherein 511,094 have no birth records while 106,250 resulted to positive verifications. Those who have no birth record will undergo the process of delayed registration at the concerned LCRO.

A total of 10,271 (3,572 for BRP Aklan and 6,699 for PBRAP) Certificates of Live Birth (COLBs) have already been printed in security paper and issued to the beneficiaries.
