In the first quarter of 2025, the volume of crops production was estimated at 26.94 million metric tons. This was 7.4 percent higher than the previous year’s same quarter output of 25.07 million metric tons. The top contributor to the increase of the volume of crops production during the quarter was sugarcane with 12.10 million metric tons output or 19.0 percent annual increase. (Figure 1 and Table 1)

The volume of livestock production from January to March 2025 was recorded at 511.16 thousand metric tons. This indicates an annual decrease of 2.6 percent relative to the same quarter of the previous year with production level of 525.00 thousand metric tons. The top contributor to this decrement was hog production, which dropped by 3.7 percent year-on-year. (Figure 2 and Table 2)

In the first quarter of 2025, the volume of fisheries production was posted at 1.01 million metric tons. It grew by 1.5 percent from the 990.71 thousand metric tons recorded output in the same quarter of the previous year. The production increment was mainly attributed to the annual increases in seaweed at 5.6 percent, milkfish (bangus) at 7.8 percent, and tilapia at 2.2 percent. (Figure 4 and Table 3)
