All economies in Zamboanga Peninsula continued to expand in 2023 from their levels in 2022. Zamboanga Sibugay registered the fastest economic growth among all economies in the region at 6.0 percent, the second consecutive year for province. This was followed by Zamboanga del Sur and Norte with growths of 5.0 percent and 4.9 percent, respectively. (Figure 1)

In terms of share to the regional economy, City of Zamboanga contributed the largest in 2023 accounting for almost one-third of the region’s economy at 32.3 percent. This was followed by Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur with 26.9 percent and 23.8 percent shares, respectively. (Figure 2)
