Industry expanded by 7.9 percent in the third quarter of 2021 from a decline of -17.6 percent in the previous year.
Manufacturing, which comprised 60.7 percent to total Industry, grew by 6.3 percent. Contributing the most to the growth were the manufacturing of the following: Computer, electronic and optical products, 17.8 percent; Food products, 5.3 percent; Other non-metallic mineral products, 21.3 percent; Basic metals, 11.6 percent; and Basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, 23.0 percent.
Other industries also posted growths during the quarter. Construction increased by 16.8 percent, Electricity, steam, water and waste management improved by 2.9 percent, and Mining and quarrying inched up by 0.6 percent.
Industry shared 27.1 percent to GDP in the third quarter of 2021.
