Release Date:
Reference Number: 2022-320

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) issues the 15th National Convention on Statistics (NCS) Bulletin No. 2 – Call for Participants for the 15th NCS. The 15th NCS, which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Ortigas Ave. cor. Asian Development Bank Ave., Quezon City on 03 to 05 October 2022, will feature plenary sessions, invited/contributed paper sessions, panel discussions, poster sessions, statistical trainings, and the Statistical Information Management Exhibit (SIMEx).

The triennial conduct of the NCS aims to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of statistics and for discussing recent statistical developments and prevailing issues and problems of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) and elicit the cooperation and support of statisticians and professionals in related fields from the government, academe, and private sector towards a more responsive statistical system.

Statisticians, statistical practitioners, researchers, members of the academe, representatives from the media, and other partners from both the government and private sectors, and the international community, will once again gather for this triennial event.

Coinciding with the Opening Ceremony of the 33rd National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration, the 15th NCS will also bear the 33rd NSM theme, “Boosting the Country’s Recovery with Informed Decisions, Better Policies.” The theme signifies the importance of evidence-based policy- and decision-making in implementing responsive plans and programs to accelerate economic recovery and growth.

This year, the NCS is introducing new sessions such as on Coronavirus diseases 2019 (COVID-19) statistics under Biostatistics, Community-Based Monitoring System, Election Statistics, and Philippine Identification System under Utilization of Administrative Data and Registers.
