The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) approved the clearance for the conduct of the Census of Building Structures in Baguio City on 28 August 2018.
 
The activity aims to distinguish all structures with and without building permits, structures not complying with minimum setbacks, structures with converted parking spaces, building signage without permits, and structures considered as important cultural properties in Baguio City.
 
The activity will cover all structures in the 129 Barangays in Baguio City and will utilize a total budget of PhP 683,843.16 for maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE).
 
The data collection and processing will be conducted from August to December 2018 by the City Buildings and Architecture Office (CBAO) of Baguio City. Results of the activity will be available in January 2019 upon request to CBAO.
 
The Census of Building Structures in Baguio City was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 to: 
 
  • minimize the burden placed upon respondents; 
  • effect economy in statistical data collection; 
  • eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts; and 
  • achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.
In line with this, the public is enjoined to support the said statistical activity.
