Annual rate of CMRPI in NCR increased to 1.1 percent in July 2024

The annual rate of CMRPI in NCR moved up to 1.1 percent in July 2024 from 1.0 percent in June 2024. In July 2023, the annual increment of CMRPI was recorded at 1.5 percent. (Figure 1, and Tables A, 2, and 4)

The primary contributor to the uptrend of CMRPI in NCR was the higher annual increase observed in the heavily weighted tinsmithry materials index at 1.6 percent in July 2024 from 1.2 percent in the previous month.

In addition, higher annual increments during the month were noted in the indices of carpentry materials at 0.6 percent from 0.2 percent, and electrical materials at 1.6 percent from 1.4 percent in June 2024.

Meanwhile, the following commodity groups retained their previous month’s annual rates:

a. Painting materials and related compounds, 1.4 percent;
b. Plumbing materials, 0.2 percent; and
c. Miscellaneous construction materials, 2.1 percent.

The index of masonry materials also retained its previous month’s annual drop of 0.2 percent. (Table 2)
