Labor Turnover Statistics (National Capital Region, 3rd and 4th Quarters 2020)

During this time of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, significant drops in establishments’ employment in the 1st half of 2020 were observed in NCR at -1.4 percent and -7.6 percent in the 1st and 2nd quarter, respectively. An increase in labor turnover of 0.1 percent was recorded during the 3rd quarter. This labor turnover rate implies that for every 1,000 employed persons, 1 worker was added to the total workforce during the period.

The first and second quarters of 2020 showed evident drops in employment growth in establishments located in the National Capital Region (NCR) as the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic started to progress. Labor turnover, as an indicator of employment growth, is measured by the difference in accession and separation rates.
