The deseasonalized palay production in the fourth quarter of 2022 at 4.87 million metric tons was down by -4.1 percent compared with the third quarter 2022 output of 5.08 million metric tons.

Compared to the same period last year, this quarter’s output when deseasonalized was lower by -1.0 percent or by 51.6 thousand metric tons. (Figure 1 and Table 1)

PRICE

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the seasonally adjusted farmgate price of palay was at PhP 18.18 per kilogram with an increase of 4.1 percent from the preceding quarter, and an increase of 6.4 percent from the same quarter of the previous year’s level of PhP 17.09 per kilogram. (Figure 2 and Table 1)
