Environmental accounts are statistical system that brings together economic and environmental information. Environmental accounts are developed to measure the contribution of the environment to economy and the impact of the economy on the environment. The development of environmental accounts may guide policy-makers in creating policies, rules, and regulations that concerns the relationship of the economy and environment. The Philippine Statistics Authority utilizes the international standard in environmental-economic accounting – the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting 2012 – Central Framework (SEEA – CF) – as reference in compiling environmental accounts. The SEEA – CF is also aligned with the concepts, structures, rules, and principles of the System of National Accounts.
