NINE-MONTH EXPORT REVENUE REACH $25.558 BILLION

Total receipt for the first three quarters of the year grew by 17.0 percent to $25.558 billion from $21.845 billion a year-earlier.

For the month of September alone, total receipt increased by 32.5 percent to $3.692 billion from $2.786 billion last year.

ELECTRONICS AND COMPONENTS ACCOUNT FOR 60.5 PERCENT

Accounting for 60.5 percent of the aggregate revenue for the month in review, shipments of Electronics and Components netted a 45.3 percent increase in sales growing to $2.233 billion, up from last year�s $1.537 billion.

Input/Output/Peripheral Units remained as the countrys second top earner, churning in $308.59 million or 54.6 percent higher than the year-ago receipt of $199.55 million.

Third top earner for the month consisted of Articles of Apparel and Clothing Accessories with sales amounting to $207.40 million, or a 6.4 percent climb from 1998s $195.00 million.

Revenue from Ignition Wiring Set and Other Wiring Sets Used in Vehicles, Aircrafts and Ships grew by 36.2 percent as value of shipments reached $45.48 million up from $33.40 million during the same month of 1998.

Value of Woodcraft and Furniture went up by 12.2 percent to $41.58 million from 1998s $37.08 million.

Earnings from Coconut Oil dropped by 64.5 percent to $34.01 million from $95.83 million last year.

Rounding-up the list of the top exports for September 1999 were: Other ProductsManufactured from Materials Imported on Consignment Basis, $32.31 million; Metal Components, $27.93 million; Cathodes and Sections of Cathodes, of Refined Copper,$20.38 million; and Gold, $20.07 million.

Aggregate payment for the top ten exports for the month amounted $2.971 billion, or 80.5 percent of the total

MANUFACTURED GOODS ACCOUNT FOR 93.1 PERCENT

Revenue from exports of Manufactured Goods posted a 39.1 percent increase as sales reached $3.439 billion, up from $2.472 billion a year earlier. This major export group accounted for 93.1 percent of the total receipt.

Income from Agro-Based and Other Agro-Based Products combined for $120.86 million or 3.3 percent of the total. Compared to the same months last year aggregate, revenue for these commodity groups fell by 31.4 percent from $176.15 million.

EXPORTS TO US UP BY 6.0 PERCENT

Accounting for 26.7 percent of the country�s aggregate receipt for the month, value of exports to the United States placed at $986.05 million, posted a 6.0 percent climb from last year�s reported figure of $929.92 million.

Exports of Semiconductor Devices Manufactured from Materials Imported on Consignment Basis pushed Taiwan up to the second spot, dislodging Japan which posted a 22.4 percent annual mark-up. Increasing by 183.8 percent to $546.10 million from $192.44 million a year back, value of exports to Taiwan accounted for 14.8 percent of the aggregate receipt for the month. Semiconductors made up more than 80.0 percent of the total export to Taiwan.

Exports to Japan, RP�s third biggest market, amounted to $411.44 million accounting for 11.1 percent of the total export

Netherlands emerged as the fourth biggest market for the month as shipments of local goods amounted to $295.21 million or 8.0 percent of the total. Compared to the same month last year, receipts increased by 41.5 percent from $208.66 million.

Other top markets for the month were: Hongkong, $275.60 million; Singapore, $229.64 million; United Kingdom of Great Britain, $184.02 million; Malaysia, $161.47 million;Germany, $122.17 million; and Korea, Republic of, $120.35 million.

Export receipt from RP�s top ten markets amounted to $3.332 billion or 90.2 percent of the total.
