The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of all the provinces in the Ilocos Region posted economic growths in 2023 from their levels in 2022, with Ilocos Norte recording the fastest growth at 8.6 percent. This was closely followed by Ilocos Sur at 8.5 percent. All provincial economies except Pangasinan registered growth rates higher than the regional GDP growth rate of 7.1 percent in 2023. (Figure 1)

In terms of major industries, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur posted double digit growth in Services with 11.6 percent and 10.2 percent, respectively. The fastest growth in Industry was recorded in Ilocos Sur at 7.7 percent, followed by Pangasinan at 7.4 percent. Meanwhile, in Agriculture, forestry, and fishing, Ilocos Norte registered the fastest growth at 3.9 percent. Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan followed with 3.5 percent and 3.4 percent growth, respectively.
