Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of June 2021

  1. Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice, ranging from PhP 0.12 to PhP 2.00, were observed in five regional centers during the first phase of June 2021 (01 to 05 June 2021), relative to their price levels in the second phase of the previous month (15 to 17 May 2021). However, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 0.25 to PhP 1.00 in four regional centers during the period. (Table 1)

Compared with their price levels in the second phase of May 2021, the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones rose by PhP 2.50 to PhP 15.00 in six regional centers during the first phase of June 2021. Meanwhile, its average retail price went down in Cabanatuan City, Pagadian City, National Capital Region (NCR), Legazpi City, and San Fernando City (Region 1). (Table 2)
  3. The average retail prices of a kilogram of bangus picked up by PhP 5.00 to PhP 30.00 in eight regional centers during the period. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram declined by PhP 1.56 in NCR, PhP 10.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1), and PhP 25.00 in Batangas City. (Table 3)
  4. Carrots and white potato were priced lower in many regional centers during the first phase of June 2021. (Table 4)
  5. The average retail prices of red onion were higher by PhP 2.67 to PhP 40.00 per kilogram in five regional centers during the period, relative to their price levels in the second phase of the previous month. On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram fell by PhP 5.00 in Butuan City, PhP 10.00 in Calapan City, and PhP 15.00 in Kidapawan City. (Table 5)
  6. Price decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of carabao mango, ranging from PhP 2.50 to PhP 130.00, were noted in eight regional centers during the first phase of June 2021. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 5.00 in Baguio City and PhP 10.00 in Tacloban City. (Table 6)
  7. The average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar inched up by PhP 0.10 to PhP 5.50 in four regional centers during the period. However, compared with the second phase of May 2021, the price of a kilogram of refined sugar went down by PhP 0.13 in Butuan City and PhP 1.50 in Calapan City during the first phase of June 2021.
