Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of March 2023

  1. The average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice went up by  PhP 0.19 to PhP 2.13 in six trading centers during the second phase of March 2023 (15 to 17 March 2023) relative to their respective first phase price levels (01 to 05 March 2023). On the other hand, its average retail prices per kilogram dropped by PhP 0.77 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 1.50 in Tacloban City, and by PhP 1.88 in Legazpi City during the period. (Table 1)

  2. Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork kasim, ranging from PhP 4.73 to PhP 12.50, were noted in nine trading centers during the second phase of March 2023. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram was lower by PhP 5.00 in Baguio City during the period. (Table 2)

  3. Compared with their price levels in the first phase of March 2023, decrements in the average retail prices of a kilogram of bangus, ranging from PhP 0.35 to PhP 10.00, were observed in six trading centers during the second phase of March 2023. However, its average retail prices per kilogram were higher by PhP 7.50 in Iloilo City and by PhP 15.00 in Kidapawan City during the period. (Table 3)

  4. Many trading centers reported lower average retail prices of vegetables during the second phase of March 2023. (Table 4)

  5. Declines in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 10.00 to PhP 135.00, were noted in 14 trading centers during the second phase of March 2023. (Table 5)

  6. The average retail prices of a kilogram of calamansi rose by PhP 2.50 to PhP 37.50 in six trading centers during the second phase of  March 2023. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 2.50 in Pagadian City during the period. (Table 6)

  7. The average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar decelerated by PhP 2.00 to PhP 3.50 in four trading centers during the second phase of March 2023. Meanwhile, its average retail prices per kilogram climbed by PhP 0.07 in the National Capital Region, by PhP 1.38 in Baguio City, and by PhP 3.38 in Cebu City during the period. (Table 7)
