Women 15 to 49 Years Old

Of the 37.9 million women in the Philippines, 51 percent belonged to the reproductive age group, that is, 15 to 49 years. This was the same proportion (51 percent) as in the 1995 census and slightly higher than in 1990 (50 percent). Detailed distribution by age group revealed that women aged 15 to 19 years comprised 20.6 percent; 20 to 24 years, 18.3 percent; 25 to 29 years, 15.6 percent; 30 to 34 years, 14.2 percent; 35 to 39 years, 12.4 percent; 40 to 44 years, 10.6 percent; and 45 to 49 years, 8.4 percent.

Olongapo City Had a Median Age of 23 Years

The City of Olongapo registered a total population of 194,260 persons in the year 2000, up from 179,754 persons in 1995. This translated to an average annual growth rate of 1.68 percent, an increase of 3.03 percentage points during the 1990 to 1995 period. The number of households rose to 43,107, higher by 4,231 households as compared to the 1995 figure. This gave an average household size of 4.8 persons, a slight increase from 1995 (4.6) but lower than the national average of five persons.

Marawi City: The Least Populated Highly Urbanized City

Marawi City registered a total population of 131,090 persons in 2000 Census of Population and Housing (Census 2000), an increase of 16,701 persons from 1995 Census of Population. This figure implied an annual growth rate of 2.96 percent, a decrease of 1.23 percentage points from that of the 1990 to 1995 period. The number of households also rose to 20,331 compared to 18,356 households from the 1995 figure.

Mandaue City: Population to Reach Half A million In 2012

The 2000 Census of Population and Housing (Census 2000) results showed that Mandaue City registered a total population of 259,728 persons, higher by 64,983 persons over the 1995 Census of Population (POPCEN) results. This figure recorded a 6.36 percent annual population growth rate, lower by 4.91 percentage points than the annual population growth rate during the 1990 to 1995 period. A corresponding increase on the number of households was also recorded at 54,882 households, higher by 13,941 households over the 1995 figure. This resulted to an average household size of 4.72 persons, slightly lower than the average household size (4.75 persons) recorded five years ago and the national average of five persons.
