Population of Dinagat Islands Increased by 13,862 Persons (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Population increased to 120,813

Dinagat Islands was created on December 2, 2006 under Republic Act No. 9355. The municipalities composing the province were taken from Surigao del Norte. The population of the newly created province was 120,813 persons as of August 1, 2007 based on the 2007 Census of Population (POPCEN 2007). This figure was higher by 13,862 persons over the population count of 106,951 persons in 2000. The recent population count for the province translated to an annual growth rate of 1.69 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, higher than the 1.33 percent annual growth rate registered for the period 1995 to 2000.

Total Population of Agusan Del Sur Reached More Than 600,000 Persons (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Total population increased to 609,447 persons

As of August 1, 2007, the total population of Agusan del Sur was 609,447 persons, indicating an increase of nine percent from its total population of 559,294 persons in 2000. The total population in 2007 translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.2 percent for the period 2000 to 2007. This was 0.6 percentage point lower than the annual population growth rate of 1.79 percent for the period 1995 to 2000.

Annual population growth rate decreased to 1.11 percent

The total population of Agusan del Norte (excluding Butuan City), as of August 1, 2007 was 309,338 persons. This resulted to an increase of 23,768 persons over the 2000 count of 285,570 persons. The annual population growth rate (PGR) was recorded at 1.11 percent, lower by 0.31 percentage point from the 1.42 percent annual PGR in 2000.

Number of Persons in the Working Age of Sultan Kudarat Increased by 2.48 Percent (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Population increased by 90,557 persons

Sultan Kudarat had a total population of 677,062 persons as of August 1, 2007, higher by 15.4 percent compared to the census count of 586,505 persons as of May 1, 2000. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate of 2.0 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

Occupied Housing Units in Sulu Went Up by 50.7 Percent (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Total population increased by 37.1 percent

The province of Sulu had a total population of 849,670 persons as of August 1, 2007. This count is higher by 37.1 percent compared with the census count of 619,668 persons as of May 1, 2000. The increase in population count for the period 2000 to 2007 translated to an annual population growth rate of 4.45 percent.
