Primer on the 2012 Census of Philippine Business and Industry

The 2012 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) is one of the designated statistical activities undertaken by the National Statistics Office which aims to collect and generate information on the performance, levels, structure and trends of economic activities of the formal sector in the entire country for the year 2012. The 2012 CPBI is the 15th in the series of economic censuses conducted in the Philippines. The last economic census was the 2006 CPBI conducted in 2007.

2000 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) - Manufacturing With Average Total Employment of 20 and Over : Final Results

A total of 7,450 manufacturing establishments with average total employment (ATE) of 20 or more workers were covered in the 2000 Census of Philippine Business and Industry with 1999 as the reference year. Food except beverages dominated the sector with 1,299 establishments or 17.4 percent of the total. Wearing apparel ranked second, with 931 establishments (12.5 percent) while chemical products placed third accounting for 446 establishments (6.0 percent).

2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) - Manufacturing With Average Total Employment of 20 and Over : Preliminary Results

The 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) covered a total of 5,024 establishments with average total employment (ATE) of 20 and over. Majority of the establishments with ATE of 20 and over, or 84.3 percent, were private corporations, followed by manufacturing establishments having their legal organization as single proprietorship (13.9%). The remaining, comprising of 1.79 percent, were cooperatives, partnerships and government corporations.

2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) - Mining and Quarrying for Establishments with Average Total Employment (ATE) of 20 and Over : Preliminary Results

The 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry covered a total of 78 establishments engaged in mining and quarrying operations nationwide. Of the total, 49 or 62.8 percent were establishments with average total employment (ATE) of less than 20 and the remaining 37.2 percent were with ATE of 20 and over.
