Occupied Housing Units in the Country Increased by 4.8 Million (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

The 2010 Census of Population and Housing (2010 CPH), counted a total of 19,715,695 occupied housing units in the Philippines as of May 1, 2010. These are housing units with households and persons living in them at the time of census enumeration.

Between 2000 and 2010, the number of occupied housing units increased by 4,900,791 or 33.1 percent.

Capiz Recorded a Population of 720 Thousand (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), the province of Capiz posted a total population of 719,685 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 65,529 persons compared to its total population of 654,156 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 0.96 percent. This is lower the 1.14 percent annual PGR of the province between the census years 1990 and 2000.

Population of 2.4 Million was Recorded in Negros Occidental (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), the province of Negros Occidental, excluding Bacolod City, posted a total population of 2,396,039 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 259,392 persons compared to its total population of 2,136,647 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.15 percent. This is lower than the 1.22 percent annual PGR of the province between the census years 1990 and 2000.

Bacolod City Posted a Population of 512 Thousand (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), Bacolod City, a highly urbanized city in the province of Negros Occidental, posted a total population of 511,820 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 82,744 persons compared to its total population of 429,076 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.78 percent. This is higher than the 1.65 percent annual PGR of the city between the census years 1990 and 2000.
