Population of Dinagat Islands Increased Five Times in 50 Years (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), the province of Dinagat Islands posted a total population of 126,803 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 19,852 persons compared to its total population of 106,951 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.72 percent. This is higher than the 0.79 percent annual PGR of the province between the census years 1990 and 2000.

If the average annual PGR recorded at 1.72 percent during the period 2000 to 2010 continues, the population of Dinagat Islands would double in 41 years.

Population of Surigao del Sur Increased by Almost 60 Thousand (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), the province of Surigao del Sur posted a total population of 561,219 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 59,411 persons compared to its total population of 501,808 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.12 percent. This is higher than the 1.05 percent annual PGR of the province between the census years 1990 and 2000.

This is larger by 68,123 persons compared to its total population of 374,465 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.68 percent. This is higher than the 1.36 percent annual PGR of the province between the census years 1990 and 2000.

Population of Agusan del Sur Increased by Nearly 100 Thousand (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), the province of Agusan del Sur posted a total population of 656,418 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 97,124 persons compared to its total population of 559,294 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.61 percent. This is lower than the 2.88 percent annual PGR of the province between the census years 1990 and 2000.

If the average annual PGR recorded at 1.61 percent during the period 2000 to 2010 continues, the population of Agusan del Sur would double in 43 years.

Population of Butuan City Reached 310 Thousand (Results from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing)

Based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), Butuan City, a highly urbanized city in the province of Agusan del Norte, posted a total population of 309,709 persons as of May 1, 2010. This is larger by 42,430 persons compared to its total population of 267,279 persons counted in the 2000 CPH. The increase in the population count from 2000 to 2010 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.48 percent. This is lower than the 1.61 percent annual PGR of the city between the census years 1990 and 2000.
