External Trade Performance : June 2013

Total external trade in goods for June 2013 reached $9.350 billion, representing a 0.7 percent decline from $9.417 billion recorded during the same month in 2012. This was due to the 4.8 percent downward trend of total imports from $5.103 billion to $4.860 billion in June 2013. However, exports showed an increase of 4.1 percent to $4.490 billion from $4.314 billion in the same month a year ago. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines in June 2013 registered a deficit of $370 million from $789 million deficit in the same period last year.

External Trade Performance : May 2013

Total external trade in goods for May 2013 reached $10.151 billion, representing a 1.6 percent decline from $10.317 billion recorded during the same month in 2012. This was due to the 2.4 percent downward trend of total imports from $5.386 billion to $5.258 billion in May 2013. Similarly, exports showed a decreased of 0.8 percent from $4.932 billion to $4.893 billion in the same month a year ago. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines in May 2013 registered a deficit of $364 million from $454 million deficit in the same period last year.

External Trade Performance : April 2013

Total external trade in goods for April 2013 reached $9.263 billion, representing a 1.7 percent decline from $9.423 billion recorded during the same month in 2012. This was due to the 11.1 percent downward trend of total exports from $4.635 billion to $4.121 billion in April 2013. On the contrary, imports showed an increase of 7.4 percent to $5.141 billion from $4.788 billion in April 2012. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines in April 2013 registered a deficit of $1.020 billion from $153 million deficit in the same period last year.

External Trade Performance : March 2013

Total external trade in goods for March 2013 reached $9.251 billion, representing a 4.6 percent decline from $9.694 billion recorded during the same month in 2012. This was due to the 8.4 percent downward trend of total imports from $5.371 billion to $4.922 billion in March 2013. On the contrary, exports showed a slight 0.1 percent increase to $4.329 billion from $4.323 billion in March 2012. Thus, the balance of trade in goods (BOT-G) for the Philippines in March 2013 registered a deficit of $593 million from $1.048 billion deficit in the same period last year.
