Final 2018 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Press Release and 2018 FIES Final Report

The Philippine Statistics Authority updates the preliminary 2018 FIES press release which was published on 04 December 2019. The final 2018 FIES now incorporates the updated urban-rural classification based on the results of the 2015 Census of Population and some revisions in the average family size as a result of the validations done when the merged 2018 FIES and the January 2019 Labor Force Survey became available.

Average Family Income in 2015 is Estimated at 22 Thousand Pesos Monthly (Results from the 2015 Family Income and Expenditure Survey)

The survey results showed that the average annual family income of Filipino families was approximately 267 thousand pesos. In comparison, the average annual family expenditure for the same year was 215 thousand pesos. Hence, Filipino families has savings of 52 thousand pesos in a year, on average.

PSA Renews Clearance of the 2015 Family Income and Expenditure Survey

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) spearheads the conduct of the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) nationwide. The survey, which is undertaken every three (3) years, is aimed at providing data on family income and expenditure, including, among others, levels of consumption by item of expenditure, sources of income in cash, and related information affecting income and expenditure levels and patterns in the Philippines.
