Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : February 1999

Production and sales for total manufacturing in February 1999 declined compared to a year ago according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). This was seen in consumer-oriented manufactures (food and paper), in industrial inputs (petroleum and non-metallic mineral products), and in durable equipment (transport equipment and electrical machinery).

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : September 2007

Value of Production improves in September 2007

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for the manufacturing industry recovered at a slower rate of 0.7 percent in September 2007 compared to a (revised) decrease of 4.5 percent during the previous month, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). Twelve major sectors reported expansion in production, with two-digit increases noted in the following: leather products, wood and wood products, chemical products, transport equipment and publishing and printing. Refer to Tables 1-A and 1 .

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : November 2008

Value of Production posts slower growth in November 2008

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for the manufacturing industry grew at a slower rate of 1.4 percent in November 2008 compared with the year-ago figure, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). Sectors that significantly contributed to the increase were the following: beverages, fabricated metal products, food manufacturing, footwear and wearing apparel, non-metallic mineral products, wood and wood products, publishing and printing, rubber and plastic products, and leather products. Refer to Tables 1-A and 1.

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : August 2011

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for total manufacturing increased at a slower pace in August 2011 as it posted a growth of 2.6 percent, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). This maybe attributed to the lower production values of basic metals. However, nine of 13 major sectors reported two-digit increases in production values, namely: furniture and fixtures, petroleum products, rubber and plastic products, beverages, miscellaneous manufactures, paper and paper products, chemical products, publishing and printing and leather products. Refer to Tables 1-A and 1.

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : August 2010

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for total manufacturing maintained a year-on-year growth as it posted 16.2 percent increase in August 2010, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). This was accounted for by 13 major sectors with two-digit increment in production values exhibited by the following: petroleum products, transport equipment, leather products, miscellaneous manufactures, beverages, electrical machinery, machinery except electrical, basic metal, fabricated metal products, rubber and plastic products, non-metallic mineral products, paper and paper products and publishing and printing. Refer to Tables 1-A and 1.
