Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : November 2011

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for total manufacturing posted a year-on-year decrease of 5.4 percent from a double-digit decrease of 10.5 percent in October 2011, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). This was attributed by 11 major sectors that reported decreases in production value. Double-digit decreases were observed in the following major sectors: wood and wood products (-28.7%), food manufacturing (-26.6%), machinery except electrical (-20.6%), miscellaneous manufactures (-12.1%) and textiles (-11.2%). Refer to Tables 1-A and 1.

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : October 2011

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for total manufacturing dropped 6.0 percent in October 2011, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). This was brought about by the poor production performance of nine major sectors, with two-digit decreases reported by the following: basic metals, food manufacturing, electrical machinery, machinery except electrical, footwear and wearing apparel and fabricated metal products. Refer to Tables 1-A and 1.

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : June 2008

Value of Production maintains positive growth in June 2008

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for the manufacturing industry recorded a year-on-year growth of 9.3 percent in June 2008, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). Eight (8) major sectors accounted for the significant growth in production, namely: basic metals, leather products, chemical products (excluding plastic products), food manufacturing, petroleum products, beverages, footwear and wearing apparel, and rubber and plastic products. Refer to Tables 1-A and 7.

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : May 2010

Value of Production Index (VaPI) for total manufacturing maintained a two-digit increase with an annual increment of 18.7 percent in May 2010, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). Sixteen out of 20 major sectors exhibited increases in production values with petroleum products contributing the largest increase of 75.2 percent, followed by other 10 major sectors that posted two-digit increases, namely: electrical machinery, transport equipment, machinery except electrical, paper and paper products, miscellaneous manufactures, wood and wood products, basic metal, leather products, beverages and rubber and plastic products. Refer to Tables 1-A and 1.

Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries : July 2009

Value of Production continues to decelerate

In July, Value of Production Index (VaPI) of the manufacturing industry contracted by 18.8 percent on a year-on-year basis, according to the preliminary results of the Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries (MISSI). Fifteen out of 20 major sectors exhibited decreases in production value with petroleum products contributing the largest decrease of 48.7 percent, followed by other nine major sectors that posted two-digit
