Performance of Philippine Agriculture, April-June 2019

Agricultural output contracted by 1.27 percent in the second quarter of 2019. This was attributed to the decline in crops production. Increases, however, were recorded for livestock, poultry and fisheries. At current prices, the value of agricultural production amounted to PhP 424.6 billion. This was 5.20 percent lower than the previous year’s level. In the first six (6) months of 2019, agricultural output went down by 0.24 percent.

In the first quarter of 2019, agriculture grew by 0.67 percent. Production increases were noted for livestock, poultry and fisheries during the period. On the other hand, crops recorded a decrease in output. At current prices, the gross value of agricultural production amounted to PhP 429.7 billion. This represented a 3.12 percent reduction from previous year’s level.

Performance of Philippine Agriculture, October-December 2018

Agriculture grew by 1.80 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018. Crops, livestock, poultry and fisheries contributed to the higher production during the quarter. At current prices, the gross value of agricultural production amounted to PhP 521.2 billion, higher by 4.05 percent than the previous year’s level. From January to December 2018, agricultural production increased by 0.56 percent.

Performance of Philippine Agriculture, July-September 2018

Agriculture contracted by 0.83 percent in the third quarter of 2018. The crops and fisheries subsectors posted decreases in production. At current prices, gross value of agricultural production amounted to PhP 409.0 billion, up by 6.82 percent from the previous year’s record. For the first nine (9) months of 2018, agriculture posted a 0.15 percent increase in output.
