Insights on the NSO as an institution and its various activities and processes that made history are likewise presented. It was completed on the month of June in time for the 100 years celebration of the country's independence. And, on June 12, 1998, the Centennial QuickStat, a one-page compilation of the most requested statistics, was released to the public and landed in leading newspapers.

Statistical information available at a glance includes population, vital statistics, foreign trade, establishments and agriculture during the Spanish, American, Commonwealth periods and that of the 90s. It is one of the special features of the publication.

The publication has been passed and approved by the National Historical Institute (NHI) and will form part of the collection in the NHI Historical Data Bank. Its official launching was held on August 19, 1998, on the occasion of the NSO's 58th Anniversary.
