The total population of Manila, as of August 1, 2007, was 1,660,714 persons. This represents an increase of 79,632 persons over the total population of 1,581,082 persons in 2000. This increase translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 0.68 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, higher than the PGR of -0.97 percent recorded during the period 1995 to 2000.

Caloocan City's Population Increased By About 200,000 Persons (Results from the 2007 Census Of Population)

The total population of Caloocan City, as of August 1, 2007, was 1,381,610 persons. This represents an increase of 204,006 persons over the total population of 1,177,604 persons in 2000. This increase translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 2.23 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, lower than the PGR of 3.06 percent recorded during the period 1995 to 2000

The population of Abra was 230,953 persons as of August 1, 2007, based on the 2007 Census of Population (POPCEN 2007). This figure was higher by 21,462 persons over the population count of 209,491 persons in 2000. The recent population count for the province translated to an annual growth rate of 1.35 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, lower than the 1.44 percent annual growth rate registered for the period 1995 to 2000.

Zamboanga Del Sur (Excluding Zamboanga City) Exceeded 900 Thousand Population Mark

The total population of Zamboanga del Sur (excluding Zamboanga City) was 914,278 persons as of August 1, 2007, based on the 2007 Census of Population. This figure is higher by 78,061 persons than the population count reported in 2000 (836,217 persons). The total population count of the province for census years 2000 and 2007 translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.24 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

National Capital Region: Close To 10 Million Persons (Results from the 2000 Census of Population and Housing, NSO)

The National Capital Region, which covers the 12 cities and five municipalities, recorded a total population of 9,932,560 persons in the 2000 Census of Population and Housing (Census 2000). This was up by 478,520 persons as compared to 9,454,040 persons recorded in the 1995 Census of Population (POPCEN). For the period 1995 to 2000, the annual population growth rate for the National Capital Region was 1.06 percent, lower than that of the 1990 to 1995 period (3.30 percent). If the current annual population growth rate of the metropolitan area continues, the population is expected to double in 65 years.
