Summary Inflation Report Consumer Price Index (2006=100) : November 2011

The year-on-year headline inflation rate at the national level slowed down to 4.8 percent in November from 5.2 percent in October. This was effected by the slower annual increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; furnishing, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house; health; transport; and education indexes and the decrease in the annual rate posted in communication index. Inflation a year ago was 3.7 percent.

Consumer Price Index for Bottom 30% Income Households (2000=100) : First Quarter 2011

Inflation for the bottom 30% income households averaged at 4.6 percent for the first quarter of 2011 was higher than the 3.2 percent in the last quarter of 2010 due to higher quarterly average inflation recorded in all the commodity groups except in housing and repairs (H&R) index. The first quarter average inflation during the same period a year ago was 4.2 percent.
