Producer Price Survey : March 2011

The Producer Price Index (PPI, 2000=100) for the manufacturing industry fell 0.9 percent in March 2011, according to the preliminary results of the monthly Producer Price Survey. This was largely attributed to the double-digit price reduction posted by furniture & fixtures (-20.7%). However, price increases were observed in eleven major sectors led by petroleum products (21.7%). Refer to Tables 1 and 1-B.

Producer Price Survey : April 2011

The Producer Price Index (PPI, 2000=100) for the manufacturing sector went up to 1.6 percent in April 2011 after recording declines in 15 months since January 2010, according to the preliminary results of the monthly Producer Price Survey. This was mainly attributed to the double-digit price increment posted by petroleum products (25.6%). On the other hand, price decreases were reflected in six major sectors led by furniture & fixtures (31.1%). Refer to Tables 1 and 1-B.

Producer Price Survey : May 2011

The Producer Price Index (PPI, 2000=100) for the manufacturing sector advanced to 1.4 percent in May 2011 from 1.3 percent in April, according to the preliminary results of the monthly Producer Price Survey. This was influenced by the double-digit annual growth posted by petroleum products (24.8%) and food manufacturing (10.1%). On the other hand, price decrements were reflected in six major sectors led by furniture & fixtures (32.2%). Refer to Tables 1 and 1-B.

Producer Price Survey : June 2011

The Producer Price Index (PPI, 2000=100) for the manufacturing sector climbed to 3 percent in June 2011, according to the preliminary results of the monthly Producer Price Survey. Eleven major sectors posted increments with significant growths exhibited by the following: petroleum products (20.8%); machinery except electrical (16.2%) and basic metals (14.4%). However, decreased prices were observed in six major sectors led by furniture & fixtures (-40.3%). Refer to Tables 1 and 1-B.

Producer Price Survey : July 2011

Producer Price Index (PPI, 2000=100) for the manufacturing sector slightly went up by 0.1 percent in July 2011, according to the preliminary results of the monthly Producer Price Survey. Twelve sectors posted increments with double-digit increases exhibited by petroleum products (27.9%) and basic metals (11.7%). However, decreases in prices were observed in seven major sectors led by furniture & fixtures (-32.79%). Refer to Tables 1 and 1-B.
