As of 01 December 2019, the total rice stocks inventory level was 3,098.01 thousand metric tons. It increased by 14.0 percent and 4.6 percent compared with the previous year's level of 2,718.48 thousand metric tons and previous month's level of 2,962.46 thousand metric tons, respectively.
The total rice stock inventory as of 01 September 2018 was 1,168.03 thousand metric tons (Figure 1). The level of stocks was 17.91 percent below the previous year's level of 1,422.84 thousand metric tons. This was 23.19 percent lower than last month's inventory level of 1,520.76 thousand metric tons.
As of 01 October 2018, the total rice stocks inventory was 1,589.89 thousand metric tons (Figure 1). It was 17.87 percent lesser as compared to October 2017 inventory level of 1,935.87 thousand metric tons and 36.12 percent higher than the 1,168.03 thousand metric tons inventory level of the previous month.
The total rice stocks inventory as of 01 November 2018 was 3,000.45 thousand metric tons (Figure 1). This was 88.7 percent higher than previous month’s inventory of 1,589.89 thousand metric tons and 1.4 percent above the 2,958.73 thousand metric tons recorded in November 2017.
The country's total rice stocks inventory as of 01 May 2019 was estimated at 2,947.42 thousand metric tons. It showed an increase of 1.3 percent from the previous year's record of 2,909.46 thousand metric tons. Rice stock inventory for the period was up by 12.2 percent from the previous month's stocks level of 2,627.69 thousand metric tons.
