PhilSys registers over 100 registrants from remote areas in Nueva Ecija

More Filipinos in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged areas (GIDA) are now registered in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). On 30 November 2021, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) registered and collected the demographic and biometric data of 112 individuals from Barangay San Agustin and Barangay Putlan in Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.

PhilSys registers over 40 million Step 2 registrants

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) marks another milestone as it registers over 40 million Filipinos into the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

As of 31 October 2021, a total of 40,264,550 Filipinos have completed their Step 2 registrations which involve verifying the registrant’s demographic information and capturing their biometric data, such as fingerprints, iris scans, and front-facing photographs.

National ID, LANDBANK co-locate in registration sites, boosting financial inclusion for close to 5.9 million Filipinos

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the lead government agency in implementing the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), partnered with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) to assist Filipinos traditionally excluded from the banking system to open their first transactional accounts. As of 21 October 2021, around 5.9 million registrants have been onboarded through the LANDBANK’s co-location with the PSA in designated PhilSys Registration Centers (RCs) across the country. Registrants can also download and open an account through the LANDBANKPay, an e-wallet account that they can use in the comfort and safety of their homes.
