Cabbage
- During the January-March 2017 period, cabbage production at 31.92 thousand metric tons was 1.2 percent lower than the 2016 output of 32.31 thousand metric tons.
- The decline in output could be traced to shifting from cabbage to broccoli, lettuce, and Chinese pechay production in Benguet due to good price.
- Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) remained the largest producer with 24.47 thousand metric tons representing 76.7 percent of the total cabbage production this quarter. Ilocos Region came next with 6.2 percent and Central Visayas with 5.0 percent.
