1. Rice, Regular Milled

   At the national level, a kilogram of regular milled rice had an average retail price of PhP 48.14 during the first phase of September 2023 (01 to 05 September 2023). Compared with its average retail price of PhP 45.57 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023 (15 to 17 August 2023), it increased by 5.6 percent. Likewise, an increment of 16.8 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of regular milled rice during the first phase of September 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 41.23 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023 (01 to 05 August 2023).    Among regions, Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) reported the highest average retail price of regular milled rice at PhP 53.42 per kilogram, while the lowest average retail price was registered in Region VI (Western Visayas) at PhP 43.18 per kilogram during the first phase of September 2023. (Table 1)

    

2. Beef, Pure Meat

   A kilogram of beef pure meat had an average retail price of PhP 413.18 during the first phase of September 2023. This shows a decline of 0.2 percent from its average retail price of PhP 414.20 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023. Similarly, the average retail price per kilogram of beef pure meat decreased by 0.2 percent during the first phase of September 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 414.10 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of beef pure meat at PhP 464.50 was observed in Region XIII (Caraga), while the lowest average retail price was registered in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at PhP 320.00 per kilogram during the first phase of September 2023. (Table 2)

    

3. Galunggong

   A kilogram of galunggong in the country had an average retail price of PhP 208.39 during the first phase of September 2023. Compared with its average retail price of PhP 202.89 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023, it increased by 2.7 percent during the period. Moreover, the average retail price per kilogram of galunggong went up by 5.3 percent during the first phase of September 2023 from its price level of PhP 197.85 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023.    By region, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of galunggong was posted in the National Capital Region at PhP 264.12 during the first phase of September 2023, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) at PhP 136.33 per kilogram. (Table 3)

    

4. Tomato

   A kilogram of tomato had an average retail price of PhP 131.74 at the national level during the first phase of September 2023. It increased by 25.8 percent relative to the average retail price of PhP 104.76 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023. Moreover, the average retail price per kilogram of tomato accelerated by 72.7 percent during the first phase of September 2023 from its price level of PhP 76.27 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of tomato was registered in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) at PhP 186.80 during the first phase of September 2023, while the lowest average retail price was recorded in BARMM at PhP 84.75 per kilogram. (Table 4)

    

5. Onion, Red

   An average retail price of PhP 199.97 per kilogram at the national level was reported in  red onion during the first phase of September 2023. This indicates a decline of 3.8 percent from the average retail price of PhP 207.79 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023. Similarly, a decrease of 3.2 percent was noted in the average retail price per kilogram of red onion during the first phase of September 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 206.59 per kilogram in the first phase of August 2023.    Among regions, Region X (Northern Mindanao) had the highest average retail price of red onion at PhP 240.00 per kilogram during the first phase of September 2023. On the other hand, Region I (Ilocos Region) recorded the lowest average retail price of red onion at PhP 154.17 per kilogram. (Table 5)

    

6. Mango, Carabao

   At the national level, a kilogram of mango carabao had an average retail price of PhP 169.43 during the first phase of September 2023. This indicates an increase of 5.4 percent from its average retail price of PhP 160.70 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023. Similarly, an increment of 26.1 percent was recorded in the average retail price per kilogram of mango carabao in the first phase of September 2023 from its average retail price of PhP 134.37 per kilogram during the first phase of August 2023.    By region, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) registered the highest average retail price of a kilogram of mango carabao at PhP 206.10, while the lowest average retail price was reported in Cordillera Administrative Region at PhP 77.50 per kilogram during the first phase of September 2023. (Table 6)

    

7. Refined Sugar

   At the national level, a kilogram of refined sugar had an average retail price of PhP 95.46 during the first phase of September 2023. This was 0.7 percent lower than the average retail price of PhP 96.10 per kilogram in the second phase of August 2023. Moreover, a decline of 1.2 percent was observed in the average retail price per kilogram of refined sugar in the first phase of September 2023 relative to its average retail price of PhP 96.60 per kilogram during the first phase of August 2023.    At the regional level, the highest average retail price of a kilogram of refined sugar was noted in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas) at PhP 106.08 during the first phase of September 2023, while the lowest average retail price was observed in BARMM at PhP 85.30 per kilogram. (Table 7)
