Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of December 2021

1. Relative to their price levels in the first phase of December 2021 (01 to 05 December 2021), the average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice dropped by PhP 0.02 to PhP 1.74 in four trading centers during the second phase of December 2021 (15 to 17 December 2021). On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of the month inched up by PhP 0.04 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 0.70 in Batangas City, and by PhP 0.98 in Tacloban City. (Table 1) 2. The average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones picked up by PhP 3.65 to PhP 37.92 in seven trading centers during the second phase of December 2021. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period went down by PhP 0.36 in the National Capital Region (NCR), by PhP 15.65 in Calapan City, and by PhP 16.97 in Baguio City. (Table 2) 3. The price per kilogram of bangus rose by PhP 8.50 to PhP 28.06 in four trading centers during the second phase of December 2021. On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram fell by PhP 0.21 in NCR, by PhP 5.00 in Batangas City, and by PhP 25.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1) during the period. (Table 3) 4. Price hikes of a kilogram of eggplant in nine trading centers during the second phase of December 2021 ranged from PhP 2.31 to PhP 51.43. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period was lower by PhP 1.75 in Tacloban City, and by PhP 6.67 in Calapan City. (Table 4) 5. The average retail prices of a kilogram of hawaiian ginger declined by PhP 3.46 to PhP 12.12 in five trading centers during the second phase of December 2021. On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram during the period was higher in Baguio City, Iloilo City and Cebu City. (Table 5) 6. Price increments of a kilogram of carabao mango ranging from PhP 9.09 to PhP 16.84 were observed in six trading centers during the second phase of December 2021. However, its average retail price per kilogram during the period was lower by PhP 1.72 in the National Capital Region, by PhP 9.49 in Legazpi City, and by PhP 45.00 in Calapan City. (Table 6) 7. Compared with their price levels in the first phase of December 2021, the average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar picked up by PhP 0.46 in Legazpi City, and by PhP 0.61 in Kidapawan City during the second phase of December 2021. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram declined by PhP 0.06 in NCR, and by PhP 2.29 in Calapan City. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
