Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of January 2022

1. Relative to their price levels in the first phase of January 2022 (01 to 05 January 2022), the average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled inched up by PhP 0.13 in Legazpi City, by PhP 0.19 in the National Capital Region (NCR), and by PhP 0.31 in Cebu City during the second phase of January 2022 (15 to 17 January 2022). On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of the month dropped by PhP 0.45 in Kidapawan City, and by PhP 0.50 in Digos City. (Table 1) 2. The average retail prices of a kilogram of dressed chicken went down by PhP 5.00 to PhP 11.67 in six trading centers during the second phase of January 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period picked up by PhP 1.50 in both Cagayan de Oro City and Kidapawan City, by PhP 5.00 in Batangas City, and by PhP 7.50 in Iloilo City. (Table 2) 3. A kilogram of galunggong declined by PhP 5.00 to PhP 40.00 in seven trading centers during the second phase of January 2022. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, rose by PhP 0.82 in NCR during the period. (Table 3) 4. At the retail trade, mixed price movements in vegetables were observed during the second phase of January 2022. (Table 4) 5. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of onion red, ranging from PhP 5.00 to PhP 125.00, were noted in seven trading centers during the second phase of January 2022. On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram were higher by PhP 10.00 in Calapan City, and by PhP 14.00 in Iloilo City during the period. (Table 5) 6. A kilogram of carabao mango fell by PhP 2.17 in NCR, by PhP 10.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1), and by PhP 19.50 in Batangas City during the second phase of January 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period rose by PhP 7.50 in Digos City, and by PhP 10.00 in Cagayan de Oro City. (Table 6) 7. Compared with their price levels in the first phase of January 2022, the average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar increased by PhP 0.08 to PhP 10.55 in five trading centers in the second phase of January 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram were lower by PhP 0.25 in San Fernando City (Region 1), and by PhP 1.27 in Digos City during the period. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
