Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of February 2022

Compared with their price levels in the first phase of February 2022 (01 to 05 February 2022), the average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice declined by PhP 0.02 to PhP 0.50 in five trading centers during the second phase of February 2022 (15 to 17 February 2022). However, its average retail price per kilogram during the second phase of the month moved up by PhP 0.17 in Butuan City, by PhP 0.25 in Tuguegarao City, and by PhP 1.17 in Tacloban City. (Table 1) The average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones climbed by PhP 3.50 to PhP 10.00 in four trading centers during the second phase of February 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram during the period dropped by PhP 0.24 in the National Capital Region (NCR) and by PhP 10.00 in Cabanatuan City and Cebu City. (Table 2) The price per kilogram of bangus inched up by PhP 0.20 to PhP 25.00 in seven trading centers during the second phase of February 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram decreased by PhP 5.00 in Cabanatuan City (Region 3), by PhP 8.50 in Butuan City (Caraga), and by PhP 15.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1) during the period. (Table 3) Varied price movements of vegetables were observed in many trading centers during the second phase of February 2022. (Table 4) The average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion dropped by PhP 5.00 to PhP 33.18 in eight trading centers during the second phase of February 2022. On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram during the period was higher by PhP 9.00 in Tacloban City. (Table 5) Price decreases of a kilogram of carabao mango ranging from PhP 4.13 to PhP 47.50 were registered in five trading centers during the second phase of February 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period was higher by PhP 5.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1) and Butuan City (Caraga), and by PhP 10.00 in Calapan City (MIMAROPA). (Table 6) Compared with their price levels in the first phase of February 2022, the average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar climbed by PhP 0.20 to PhP 6.60 in seven trading centers during the second phase of February 2022.
