Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of March 2022

The average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice dropped by PhP 0.05 to PhP 1.64 in six trading centers during the first phase of March 2022 (01 to 05 March 2022), from their price levels in the second phase of February 2022 (15 to 17 February 2022). Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 0.49 in Iloilo City, by PhP 0.50 in Baguio City, by PhP 0.60 in Kidapawan City, and by PhP 1.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 1) Compared with their price levels in the second phase of February 2022, the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones increased by PhP 2.71 to PhP 20.95 in six trading centers during the first phase of March 2022. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, was lower by PhP 2.50 in Cagayan de Oro City, by PhP 10.00 in Cabanatuan City, and by PhP 18.00 in Legazpi City, during the first phase of March 2022. (Table 2) The average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong inched up from PhP 2.78 to PhP 80.00 in five trading centers during the first phase of March 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram went down by PhP 15.25 in Butuan City, by PhP 20.00 in Tacloban City, by PhP 40.00 in Kidapawan City, and by PhP 50.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 3) On average, prices of vegetables at the retail trade declined in many trading centers during the first phase of March 2022. (Table 4) Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion between the first phase of March 2022 and the second phase of February 2022 in 10 trading centers ranged from PhP 4.00 to PhP 114.98. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram increased by PhP 5.00 in Cabanatuan City and by PhP 30.00 in Kidapawan City during the period. (Table 5). Changes in the prices of a kilogram of carabao mango, ranging from a drop of PhP 4.22 to an increase of PhP 35.00, were observed in 10 trading centers during the first phase of March 2022, compared with their respective price levels in the second phase of February 2022. (Table 6) The average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar went up by PhP 1.00 to PhP 8.13 in five trading centers during the first phase of March 2022. Its average retail price, however, declined by PhP 0.05 to PhP 8.70 in five trading centers during the period. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
