Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of April 2022

1. Relative to their price levels in the second phase of March 2022, the average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice inched up by PhP 0.10 to PhP 1.00 in eight trading centers during the first phase of April 2022 (01 to 05 April 2022). Its average retail price per kilogram, however, went down by PhP 0.18 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 0.25 in Pagadian City, and by PhP 5.50 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 1) 2. The average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones moved up by PhP 3.00 to PhP 29.83 in seven trading centers during the first phase of April 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram fell by PhP 5.00 in Baguio City during the first phase of April 2022. (Table 2) 3. Changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of bangus, ranging from a drop of PhP 4.08 to an increase of PhP 15.00, were observed in nine trading centers during the first phase of April 2022. (Table 3) 4. Movements in the prices of vegetables at the retail trade were registered in many trading centers during the first phase of April 2022. (Table 4) 5. Declines in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion between the first phase of April 2022 and the second phase of March 2022 in six trading centers ranged from PhP 5.00 to PhP 97.00. However, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 3.50 in Digos City and by PhP 22.50 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 5). 6. Varied changes in the prices of a kilogram of lakatan banana by PhP 0.09 to PhP 17.50 were seen in 10 trading centers during the first phase of April 2022, compared with their respective price levels in the second phase of March 2022. (Table 6) 7. The average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar increased by PhP 0.40 to PhP 7.25 in seven trading centers during the first phase of April 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price eased down by PhP 1.63 in San Fernando City (Region 1), by PhP 3.25 in Cabanatuan City, and by PhP 9.25 in Calapan City during the period. (Table 7) DENNIS S.
