Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of April 2023

  1. The average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice increased by PhP 0.02 to PhP 2.00 in seven trading centers during the first phase of April 2023 (01 to 05 April 2023) relative to their price levels in the second phase of March 2023 (15 to 17 March 2023). Meanwhile, its average retail prices per kilogram went down by PhP 0.75 in Baguio City, by PhP 1.70 in Calapan City, by PhP 2.17 in Batangas City, and by PhP 2.90 in Butuan City during the period. (Table 1)

  2. Eight trading centers reported increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork kasim by PhP 10.00 to PhP 20.00 during the first phase of April 2023. On the contrary, its average retail prices per kilogram declined by PhP 5.00 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 10.00 in Cebu City, and by PhP 15.00 in Butuan City during the period. (Table 2)

  3. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong, ranging from PhP 11.51 to PhP 60.00, were observed in eight trading centers during the first phase of April 2023. However, its average retail prices per kilogram increased by PhP 25.00 in Tuguegarao City and by PhP 35.00 in Calapan City during the period. (Table 3)

  4. The average retail prices of vegetables decreased in majority of the trading centers during the first phase of April 2023. (Table 4)

  5. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 1.50 to PhP 94.50, were registered in 11 trading centers during the first phase of April 2023. Meanwhile, its average retail prices per kilogram climbed by PhP 5.00 in Cebu City and by PhP 20.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 5)

  6. The average retail prices of a kilogram of calamansi rose by PhP 5.00 to PhP 15.00 in nine trading centers during the first phase of April 2023. On the contrary, its average retail prices per kilogram fell by PhP 5.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1) and by PhP 10.00 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 6)

  7. Seven trading centers recorded varied changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar during the first phase of April 2023. Price decreases of PhP 1.00 to PhP 3.12 were observed in four regions, while three regions registered price increases ranging from PhP 0.09 to PhP 2.00. (Table 7)
